Is the most efficient way to learn? How the information access speed is changing it? Like <a title="Technology/Education - Ipad" href="http://www.setonhill.edu/ipad/" target="_blank">Seton Hill which is giving a Macbook+iPad to every student.</a></p>
<p><strong>Have a look to Khan Academy? 1000+ provided by one man with one slogan</strong>: <em>&#8220;The Khan Academy is a not-for-profit organization with the mission of providing a high quality education to anyone, anywhere.&#8221;</em></p>

<p>Here&#8217;s a quote of Seth Godin from his article <strong><a title="What Is School For? Seth Godin" href="http://sethgodin.typepad.com/seths_blog/2009/01/super-bowl-laziness.html" target="_blank">&#8220;What Is School For?&#8221;</a></strong></p>
<div>
<p>So, a starter list. The purpose of school is to:</p>
<ol>
<li>Become an informed citizen</li>
<li>Be able to read for pleasure</li>
<li>Be trained in the rudimentary skills necessary for employment</li>
<li>Do well on standardized tests</li>
<li>Homogenize society, at least a bit</li>
<li>Pasteurize out the dangerous ideas</li>
<li>Give kids something to do while parents work</li>
<li>Teach future citizens how to conform</li>
<li>Teach future consumers how to desire</li>
<li> Build a social fabric</li>
<li>Create leaders who help us compete on a world stage</li>
<li>Generate future scientists who will advance medicine and technology</li>
<li>Learn for the sake of learning</li>
<li>Help people become interesting and productive</li>
<li>Defang the proletariat</li>
<li>Establish a floor below which a typical person is unlikely to fall</li>
<li>Find and celebrate prodigies, geniuses and the gifted</li>
<li>Make sure kids learn to exercise, eat right and avoid common health problems</li>
<li>Teach future citizens to obey authority</li>
<li>Teach future employees to do the same</li>
<li>Increase appreciation for art and culture</li>
<li>Teach creativity and problem solving</li>
<li>Minimize public spelling mistakes</li>
<li>Increase emotional intelligence</li>
<li>Decrease crime by teaching civics and ethics</li>
<li>Increase understanding of a life well lived</li>
<li>Make sure the sports teams have enough players</li>
</ol>
<p>If you have the email address of the school board or principals, perhaps you&#8217;ll forward this list to them (and I hope you <em>are</em> in communication with them regardless, since it&#8217;s a big chunk of your future and your taxes!). Should make an interesting starting point for a discussion.</p>
<p>Seth Godin, from <a title="Seth Godin's Blog" href="http://sethgodin.typepad.com/seths_blog/2009/01/super-bowl-laziness.html" target="_blank">his blog</a>.</p>
<p><strong>My conclusion is that considering how easy and fast it is to access to the information, we should focus more on the interaction part of our courses and increase our curiosity. If there&#8217;s no interaction or no debate then we can watch an expert give the course online.</strong></p>
<p><em>&#8220;We lead a company by asking questions, not giving answers&#8221;</em> &#8211; Jim Collins in <a title="Tribal Leadership - Jim Collins - Book for entrepreneur" href="http://blog.alextoul.fr/entrepreneurs/6-unmissable-books-for-entrepreneurs" target="_self">Tribal Leadership</a></p>
<div style="color:grey;">
Also watch <a title="How school can kill the creativity" href="http://www.ted.com/talks/ken_robinson_says_schools_kill_creativity.html" target="_blank">Ken Robinson on &#8220;how school can kill creativity&#8221;</a>.</p>
<p>PS: Don&#8217;t get me wrong, I like <a title="Entrepreneurship Education - Engineer, Manager, Entrepreneur" href="http://blog.alextoul.fr/my-education/iteem-ingenieur-manager-entrepreneur" target="_self">my education based on entrepreneurship</a> but we can always aim at better right?

<p>I attended to <a title="Leweb - European Internet Conference for Entrepreneurs" href="http://www.leweb.net/" target="_blank">#leweb08</a> and <a title="Twitter Search - Leweb Internet Conferences organized by Loic" href="http://search.twitter.com/search?q=leweb" target="_blank">#leweb09</a> Thanks to @geraldine and @loic. It really changed my objectives and helped me to start to think more as an innovator than a consumer of the system. We made a<a title="Iteem - Leweb - Entrepreneurs" href="http://iteem.ec-lille.fr/leweb/" target="_blank"> dedicated website </a>and organized few <a title="Workshop for Entrepreneurs" href="http://blog.alextoul.fr/category/events/workshops">workshops</a> in my school about some topics we have seen at LeWeb. A big change for young entrepreneurs.</p>
<p>As @loic said in #leweb09 in his conclusion <em>&#8220;We aim at perfection&#8221;</em> so here&#8217;s 5 ideas that I thought it would worth to share. Let me know what do you think about it?</p>
<p><a href="http://blog.alextoul.fr/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/leweb10-improvements-banner.jpg" rel="shadowbox[post-338];player=img;"><img title="LeWeb10 - 5 Ideas to improve leweb - European Internet Conference" src="http://blog.alextoul.fr/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/leweb10-improvements-banner.jpg" alt="LeWeb10 - 5 Ideas to improve leweb - Entrepreneurs Conference" width="720" height="120" /></a></p>
<div class="clear"></div>
<p><strong>1. More about &#8220;What Is Going On in Asia?&#8221;</strong><br />
Discovering and then following &#8220;what the Valley/States is thinking&#8221; is amazing. <a href="http://techcrunch.com/about-techcrunch/">Mike <em>Arrington</em></a>, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marissa_Mayer"><em>Marissa Mayer</em></a>, <a href="http://about.zappos.com/meet-our-monkeys/tony-hsieh-ceo"><em>Tony</em> Hsieh</a>, <em><a href="http://www.chrisbrogan.com/">Chris Brogran</a></em>, etc are really great. But I&#8217;m wondering what the Asians thinkers are doing. We all know they are fast, smart, and pro-efficient. But apparently to quiet. It might important if not crucial to know what is going on there?</p>
<p><strong>2. Is there a way to make it more interactive?<br />
<span style="font-weight: normal;">In 2009, <a title="Gary Vaynerchuck talking at LeWeb09 about his wish to be more interactive" href="http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/2851904" target="_blank">Gary Vaynerchuk</a> was begging Loic to organize a Q&amp;A. Meanwhile there&#8217;s <a title="Techcrunch Disrupt Conference" href="http://disrupt.techcrunch.com/" target="_blank">Techcrunch Disrupt Conference</a> trying new ideas to get the public involved. So how can we do it? Red-light remotes won&#8217;t make the trick but maybe something easier? Green and red paper with a optic eye?</span></strong></p>
<p><strong>3. Touch more french students, we&#8217;re missing the reality of the world.</strong><strong><br />
</strong><strong> </strong><strong><span style="font-weight: normal;">I personnaly discovered Ted.com with <em><a href="http://www.ted.com/speakers/chris_anderson_ted.html">Chris Anderson</a> </em>at Leweb08, then I started watching every weeks few conferences and then most of my schoolmates followed. During a workshop, I realized that only 50% of my schoolmates know this website. A 20min interesting talk a day can be better than a 8-hour boring course. Plus I think students (more than entrepreneurs) need to hear those talks, we will create the future. School give answers instead asking questions and it cut off our hope in innovation and creativity. </span></strong></p>
<p><strong><span style="font-weight: normal;">Why not give a student discount only if they organize something in their school to talk about what they have seen and understood about entrepreneurship.</span></strong></p>
<p><strong><span style="font-weight: normal;"><strong><span style="font-weight: normal;"><strong><span style="font-weight: normal;">Plus</span><span style="font-weight: normal;"> it&#8217;s free marketing for the event. </span><span style="font-weight: normal;">Plus</span><span style="font-weight: normal;"> it shows that Leweb is caring even more about the future of France. </span><span style="font-weight: normal;">Plus</span><span style="font-weight: normal;"> it might have amazing consequences.</span></strong></span></strong></span></strong></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: normal;"><span style="font-weight: normal;"><span style="font-weight: normal;"><strong>4. Have a Real Video Library<br />
<span style="font-weight: normal;">LeWeb is becoming BIG and starts to archive a bit of videos. I still watch videos of people and ideas I want to listen again. </span><span style="font-weight: normal;">However it&#8217;s hard</span><span style="font-weight: normal;">. <a title="Leweb Youtube Channel" href="http://www.youtube.com/user/LeWebParis">LeWebParis Youtube&#8217;s Channel</a> and the <a title="Leweb Main Stage USTREAM TV" href="http://www.ustream.tv/" target="_blank">USTREAM TV</a> doesn&#8217;t have titles, categories and descriptions.</span> <a title="TED.com Ideas Worth Spreading" href="http://www.ted.com/" target="_blank">TED.com</a></strong> does and makes it amazingly easier and more accessible. Again this is about giving access to something that deserves to be heard. <em><a title="Videos - Ted.com Ideas Worth Spreading" href="http://ted.com" target="_blank">&#8220;Ideas Worth Spreading&#8221;</a></em> right? Can&#8217;t we find a way to sort them better?</span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: normal;"><span style="font-weight: normal;"><span style="font-weight: normal;"><strong>5. Let The New People Talk<br />
<span style="font-weight: normal;">Talks at LeWeb are amazing. That&#8217;s true. LeWeb09 had some new awesome people like <a title="Chris Pirillo at LeWeb09 - Internet Entrepreneurs Conferences" href="http://www.youtube.com/user/LeWebParis#p/u/5/0PbbG1cl41A" target="_blank">Chris Pirillo</a> and <a title="Queen Rania at Leweb - December Conference 2009" href="http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/2839524" target="_blank">Queen Rania</a>. I think it has been already said in 2009, but we start to recognize too much people. Maybe LeWeb needs to look for new people, as I said, maybe Asians? Students? Or just simply a whole set of new people?</span></strong></span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: normal;"><span style="font-weight: normal;"><span style="font-weight: normal;"><span style="font-weight: normal;"><strong>Others ideas?<br />
</strong></span></span></span></span></p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<ul>
<li><span style="font-weight: normal;"> A sustainable theme? Most of us use huge server farms, maybe it worth to share how to save energy? Promote the companies which are specialized?</span></li>
<li><span style="font-weight: normal;">Workshops a bit less technical?</span></li>
<li><span style="font-weight: normal;">What others ideas do you have?</span></li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Conclusion<br />
<span style="font-weight: normal;">I love this event, we meet great people, hear great talks and above all it&#8217;s in France. <a title="Loic Le Meur - French Entrepreneur - Talking at Standfort about Social Media" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1G4w8EQ5LU" rel="shadowbox[post-338];player=swf;width=640;height=385;" target="_blank">Loic left France</a> because everything is happening in the US and he is giving a chance to our entrepreneurs to be face to new challenges. But we need to improve it, because <em>&#8220;We Aim At Perfection&#8221; ? Right <a title="Loic Le Meur - French Entrepreneur" href="http://twitter.com/loic" target="_blank">@loic</a>?</em></span></strong></p>
