Great post Alex. I definitely agree - especially on cloud computing. I know mobile is already and will continue to play a huge part in all that we do.

Hey Alex, you make good observations in this post. The whole idea of mainframe seems to be returning, centralization of data, and the return of the most hated computer on the planet, the uncomputer called a Dumb Terminal.

My personal view, 100 Base Internet connections and numbers 2 & 3 may be integrated to appear as one.

I think dumb-terminals are definitely coming back in a big way. Once it's quick enough to stream the video for the entire display from the cloud then computers will become very cheap and will need almost no internals. To do this we will need much lower network latency as well as faster network speed. I'm sure the future will not disappoint us. I hear those scientists are hard at work in their labs as we speak!
